me, the "drawer"

an approximation of me

When people ask me about my hobbies, I usually just say that I like to draw.
In reality, that says very little about what it really means to me to create
art. Art is my favorite form of communication and expression. We all use
the same words in our language to communicate, but the art we create is
truly unique to our own perceptions of reality. When we share art with
each other, we share our own worlds. I am sharing this world with you.

I do draw, but I also paint, collage, design, code, and even write a little.
The majority of this I've been doing on my computer for years. The more I've
learned, either through graphic design classes or through my own experience, the
more empowered I've felt. Experiencing emotions you can't describe, wanting something
to exist, or wanting to channel love for something or someone, and making it come to life
in front of your eyes, is very powerful. This, I also want to share with you.

I find myself drawn to color and texture in particular as communication tools.
Other times, I mostly focus on movement and contrasting lines to add structure to
a piece. I take great care in choosing my colors, sometimes even spending more time
messing with the colors of a piece than any other part of the process.

another approximation of me

Other than that, I'm a few different things. I am a son and a brother. At the same
time, I am also nonbinary. If that doesn't make sense, that's okay.

Right now, I'm also a college student majoring in computer science. Although, HTML
is not my strong suit. I'm simply learning as I go to make this website come together.
My last portfolio was on Wix, so I thought I'd try something different this time.

My favorite thing about any activity I enjoy is the process, whether that's coding, drawing,
painting, writing, etc. As AI becomes more and more ubiquitous, I am more frequently faced
with the offer to let a machine take this process away from me. As much as I like computers,
I don't intend to let them take over my life that easily.

I also like Sonic the Hedgehog.
